Next Generation Eco-LCD Using Polarizer-free Stencil-FSC Method ／Prof. Han-Ping D. Shieh and Prof. Yi-Pai Huang

　The research group proposed the 120 Hz. Stencil-FSC method combined with high efficiency RGBW-LEDs and polarizer-free LC mode, the relative optical power consumption was much reduced to 13% of a current FSC-LCD. For a mainstream 42-inch LCD-TV. for example, the optical power consumption may be less than 9-Watt only. A 42-inch Stencil-FSC LCD panel using an RGBW-LED backlight can save as much as 191-Watt compared to a current LCD-TV with an LED backlight.
